The Atlanta Thrashers have reassigned right wing Anthony Aquino (ah-KEE-noh) from the first-place Gwinnett Gladiators of the East Coast Hockey League to Chicago.

Aquino, who recorded eight shots in three preseason games with the Wolves this season, was assigned to Gwinnett on Oct. 15. The 21-year-old forward ranks third on the Gladiators with seven goals and shares fifth on the team with 15 points in 14 games.

The Mississauga, Ontario, native made his professional debut last year with the Wolves on March 21 against the Rochester Americans, and finished with four penalty minutes in five regular-season games. Aquino concluded his amateur career last season with 10 goals and 19 points in 14 games with the Oshawa Generals of the Ontario Hockey League.

Aquino was acquired by Atlanta from the Dallas Stars on Nov. 7, 2002, in exchange for a sixth-round draft pick in the 2003 National Hockey League Entry Draft and future considerations. Aquino was selected by Dallas with its third pick, 92nd overall, in the 2001 NHL Entry Draft.
