Angel City FC News Release

LOS ANGELES - Angel City Football Club (ACFC) today confirmed that the team obtained the playing rights of Portland Thorns FC forwards Simone Charley and Tyler Lussi, NJ/NY Gotham FC goalkeeper Dijana "DiDi" Haračić, and North Carolina Courage midfielder Cari Roccaro, in exchange for full roster protection in the upcoming 2022 NWSL Expansion Draft presented by Ally. In addition to full roster protection, Portland will also receive $100,000 in allocation money and LA's 2022 natural second round pick in the 2022 NWSL Draft presented by Ally. Gotham FC will receive $50,000 in allocation money.

Charley, a forward who graduated from Vanderbilt University, began her pro career with the Portland Thorns in 2019. In the 2021 season, she appeared in 20 matches and tallied five goals.

A third-round pick in the 2017 NWSL College Draft by the Portland Thorns, Lussi made her professional debut one week after signing. The forward spent her collegiate career with the Princeton Tigers.

Haračić, a goalkeeper from Bosnia and Herzegovina, began her professional career with the Washington Spirit Reserves in 2013 before signing with the Western New York Flash in 2014 following her collegiate career at Loyola University Maryland. She also made nine appearances for the Bosnia and Herzegovina National Team.

Roccaro, a graduate of the University of Notre Dame, was the fifth overall pick in the 2016 NWSL Draft by the Houston Dash. The defender signed with the North Carolina Courage in 2-18 and accrued 1,351 minutes in 21 games during the 2019 and 2020 seasons.

Today's news precedes Angel City's roster-building milestones of the 2022 NWSL Expansion Draft on December 16 and the 2022 NWSL Draft on December 18. It also comes on the heels of several recent player and trade announcements.
