
Houston Dash Announces Roster Decisions

Houston Dash News Release
The Houston Dash exercised contract options for five players following the 2021 NWSL season, the team announced today. The Dash have an additional 14 players under contract and enter the offseason with 19 players under contract.
Houston exercised contract options for forward Michaela Abam, defender Allysha Chapman, defender Katie Naughton, defender Megan Oyster and defender Annika Schmidt. Defender Haley Hanson signed an extension with the team and forward Michelle Alozie signed a one-year contract and both will return for the 2022 season.
Houston declined the option for defender Denisha Blackwood.
The Dash have waived the following players: forward Jamia Fields, midfielder Andrea Hauksdottir and midfielder Megan Rosa. Goalkeeper Lindsey Harris, midfielder Bri Visalli and forward Veronica Latsko are out of contract. Additionally, goalkeeper Amanda Dennis announced her retirement from professional soccer.
The team is currently in talks with select players about returning to the club for the 2022 season. Finally, Houston signed a contracted international player not yet announced. More details will be released at a later date.
Houston enters the offseason with the following players under contract: goalkeeper Jane Campbell, forward Rachel Daly, midfielder Hannah Diaz, forward Makamae Gomera-Stevens, midfielder Shea Groom, midfielder Kristie Mewis, midfielder Emily Ogle, forward Nichelle Prince, midfielder Sophie Schmidt, midfielder Gabby Seiler, and forward Jasmyne Spencer.
