LETHBRIDGE, AB - The Lethbridge Hurricanes Hockey Club announced Thursday that 2007-born forward Kash Andresen has been added to the main roster for the remainder of the 2023-2024 season.
Andresen, 16, was selected by the Hurricanes in the second-round (33rd overall) in the 2022 Western Hockey League Prospects Draft. The Saskatoon, SK, product has appeared in five games this season with the Hurricanes as an affiliate going pointless with two penalty minutes. Andresen also appeared in all four pre-season games with the 'Canes collecting two penalty minutes while going pointless.
The 6'1, 165-pound forward has totaled six points (3g-3a) along with 20 penalty minutes in eight games this season with the Saskatoon Blazers U18 AAA team. Andresen recorded 39 points (10g-29a) with 36 penalty minutes in 43 regular season games with the Blazers in 2022-2023 while adding 10 points (4g-6a) with six penalty minutes in 11 post-season games. In his draft season, he racked up 57 points (25g-32a) along with 50 penalty minutes in 31 regular season games with the Saskatoon Bandits U15 AA team.
Andresen joins defenceman Will Sharpe as the only two 16-year-old players on the Hurricanes roster and will join the 'Canes ahead of Friday's game against the Wenatchee Wild.
The Hurricanes will end their three-game homestand at 7:00pm on Friday against the Wild before opening a five-game BC Division road trip on Friday, November 17th in Victoria against the Royals.
