Crestwood, IL - The Windy City ThunderBolts left the Richmond Roosters scoreless on Wednesday night, 6-0, at Hawkinson Ford Field.

With one down in the bottom of the second, third baseman Jason Crosland golfed a homerun over the fence in left field to give the ThunderBolts a quick 1-0 lead. Second baseman Matt Ferrara and catcher Joe Neal knocked back-to-back singles to lead off the third inning. Both runners advanced along the base paths on a ground out by center fielder Jerome McCoy. A sacrifice fly by shortstop Jose Gutierrez scored Ferrara from third to put the ThunderBolts ahead, 2-0.

An infield single by Justin Schuda and a walk drawn by Nick Klusaw put two on with one out for Windy City in the fourth. Left fielder Ryan Andrews torpedoed a Jared Howton offering into the left field parking lot to up the ThunderBolt advantage to 5-0.

Starting pitcher Scott Anderson stymied the Richmond batters. Designated hitter Josh Hollingsworth worked Anderson for two singles and Ty Herroit earned two walks and clubbed a double. Rooster batters reached base in every inning but the first and had only one runner advance to third.

Anderson fired a complete game shut out to improve his record to 1-1 on the season. Anderson allowed nine hits and was assisted by three double plays turned by the infielders behind him. Taking the loss for Richmond was Howerton who allowed five of six ThunderBolt runs over six innings of work.
