Anaheim Reassigns Rakell to Norfolk; Admirals Reassign Ezekiel to Utah

NORFOLK, VA - The Anaheim Ducks announced Monday that the National Hockey League (NHL) club has reassigned center Rickard Rakell to the Norfolk Admirals, Anaheim's primary development affiliate in the American Hockey League (AHL). In addition, the Norfolk Admirals announced that the team has reassigned forward Norm Ezekiel to the Utah Grizzlies of the ECHL.

Rakell, 20, has logged an assist in seven appearances with the Ducks this season. In addition, the 6-1 192-pound center has registered six points (4g, 2a) in 11 games played with Norfolk. Last season, Rakell went scoreless in four regular season appearances with the Ducks. The Sundbyberg, Sweden native is a 2011 first-round draft selection (30th overall) of Anaheim. He totaled a balanced 149 points (68a, 81a) in three seasons with the Plymouth Whalers (OHL) from 2010-13.

Ezekiel, 22, returns to Utah after going scoreless with nine penalty minutes in three games played with Norfolk this season. In addition, Ezekiel logged nine penalty minutes in three appearances with the Grizzlies prior to his call-up to Norfolk. Last season, the 5-8, 185-pound blue-liner scored a goal and posted 112 penalty minutes in 27 games played with the Colorado Eagles of the ECHL. In addition, Ezekiel logged 23 penalty minutes in nine appearances with the St. John's IceCaps of the American Hockey League. The Barrie, Ontario native played two seasons with the Barrie Colts (OHL) totaling 20 points (9g, 11a) and 262 penalty minutes from 2010-2012.

The Admirals open up a five-game homestand beginning this Friday at 7:30 p.m. against the Portland Pirates. Friday's game is Military Appreciation Night! All military personnel may purchase tickets for $11 when they present their valid Military I.D. to the Scope Box Office. In addition, the first 2,025 fans will receive the first of three Admirals trading card sets. The Admirals and Pirates will meet again on Saturday beginning at 7:15 p.m.
