
Minnesota Wild Recalls Goaltender Darcy Kuemper

Des Moines, IA - Minnesota Wild General Manager Chuck Fletcher on Monday announced the National Hockey League (NHL) club has recalled goaltender Darcy Kuemper from the Iowa Wild of the American Hockey League (AHL) and reassigned goaltender Johan Gustafsson to Iowa.
Kuemper, 23 (5/5/90), is 3-7-0 with a 2.97 goals-against average (GAA) and a .908 save percentage (SV%) in 10 games with Iowa this season. He has started one game with Minnesota this season allowing three goals in 32:22 of action at Toronto on Oct. 15. Kuemper went 1-2-0 with a 2.08 GAA and a .916 SV% in six games (three starts) with the Wild last season. He also appeared in two NHL playoff games in relief and stopped 29-of-33 shots faced for a 3.29 GAA and a .879 SV%. The 6-foot-5, 205-pound native of Saskatoon, Sask., was the Wild's sixth-round selection (No. 161 overall) in the 2009 NHL Entry Draft.
Gustafsson, 21 (2/28/92), was recalled by Minnesota on Nov. 15 and did not appear in a game. He is 3-1-0 with a 2.45 GAA, a .920 SV% and one shutout in five games with Iowa this season.
The Wild continues a six-game homestand with Grand Rapids on Friday, Nov. 22 at 7:05 p.m. Fans may donate a non-perishable food item to receive a free ticket to an upcoming game, presented by Zerorez. Also, as part of the Great American Smokeout, fans who quit smoking and turn in a tobacco product at the Central Iowa Tobacco Free Partnership table will receive a free ticket to an upcoming game. The Wild concludes its homestand with Abbotsford on Nov. 23 at 7:05 p.m. and Nov. 24 at 5:05 p.m. Saturday night is Veterans Appreciation Night and there is a Helmets to Hardhats Auction. Fans may participate in a live postgame auction of game-worn player helmets, benefitting Helmets to Hardhats. Sunday night, fans may purchase the Subway Family Four Pack for the game, which features four tickets, four hot dogs, four sodas and Subway coupons starting at $44.
