STJ 3 vs WOR 2 (OT)

Buoyed by a two-goal performance from Jerome Samson - including the game-winner in overtime - the St. John's IceCaps scored three unanswered goals en route to the win Wednesday night at Mile One Centre. Andrew Gordon had the other goal for St. John's, as well as the assist on the game-winner. Eddie Pasquale was strong between the pipes for the IceCaps, stopping 23 of 25 shots.

WOR 3 vs STJ 2 (SO)

Despite forcing overtime for the second game in as many nights, the St. John's IceCaps lost in a shootout Friday night at Mile One Centre.

Sena Acolatse scored the game-winner in the shootout, while Matt Tennyson and Freddie Hamilton had the tallies during regulation for the Sharks. For the IceCaps, Jason Jaffray and Jerome Samson had the goals, while Eddie Pasquale made 21 saves. Sat., Nov. 16

WOR 2 vs STJ 1 (SO)

Harri Sateri made 24 saves and Travis Oleksuk scored in regulation and added another in the shootout, as the Worcester Sharks edged the IceCaps Saturday night at Mile One Centre. Brodie Reid had the other tally in the shootout for the Sharks. Jerome Samson had the regulation goal for St. John's. IceCaps netminder Jussi Olkinuora was sharp in his first-ever home start, making 32 saves.

Keane on the IceCaps: Mike Keane, three-time Stanley Cup champion, now Player Development Assistant for the Winnipeg Jets, made his first visit to St. John's in his new role, last week.

Julian to the Jets: For the second time this season, the Winnipeg Jets have recalled IceCaps defenceman Julian Melchiori. The 21-year-old is still waiting to play his first-ever NHL game.

Now With Wilkes-Barre/Scranton: Goaltender Peter Mannino, an original IceCap, will face his old teammates this weekend when his Penguins host the IceCaps.

Mannino has a 3.40 goals against average in three games this season.

A Family Affair: Wilkes-Barre/Scranton defenceman Brendan Mikkelson comes from a hockey-playing family. His father Bill, skated in the NHL for the Los Angeles Kings, New York Islanders and Washington Capitals in the 1970s, while his sister, Meaghan, plays on the Canadian national women's team and won a gold medal at the 2010 Winter Olympics. His brother in law, Scott Reid is a career minor league goaltender. His great uncle, Jim McFadden, won the Calder Trophy in 1948, and the Stanley Cup in 1950.

The Homecoming: IceCaps Blair Riley and Jordan Hill will make their first visit to Bridgeport on Sunday since leaving the Sound Tigers last summer.
