Norfolk Admirals News Release

ANAHEIM, Calif. - The Anaheim Ducks announced today that the National Hockey League (NHL) club has reassigned center Chris Wagner to their American Hockey League (AHL) affiliate, the Norfolk Admirals.

Wagner, 23, made his NHL debut for the Ducks on October 17 versus Minnesota when he logged nine shifts and two penalty minutes. Wagner initially got the call to Anaheim on October 15 and returns to help a struggling Admirals side that lost their fourth in a row today versus Hartford.

The Wellesley, Massachusetts native began his professional career in 2012 with Norfolk and has 26 goals and 53 points since, including four goals in four games this year. He won the league's Player of the Week award for the first week of the season after recording a hat trick in the Admirals' season opener. Anaheim selected Wagner in the fifth round of the 2010 NHL Entry Draft. The 6-foot, 200-pound center played two seasons at Colgate University before starting his tenure with the Admirals.

Norfolk hosts the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins on Halloween this coming Friday at 7:30 p.m. as part of the "Zombie A-Hockey-Lypse" Night at Scope. The Admirals and Penguins square off again on Saturday at 7:15 p.m. Individual tickets are available for purchase at the Scope Box Office, ticketmaster.com, Ticketmaster outlets, and charge-by-phone at 1-800-745-3000.
