
Amile Jefferson Ties NBA G League Single Season Double Double Record as Wolves Coast to Victory over Warriors

Santa Cruz, Calif - Amile Jefferson finished with a game-high 23 points and 17 rebounds as the Iowa Wolves (24-25) defeated the Santa Cruz Warriors (23-26) 112-101 Friday night on the road.
Jefferson recorded his league-leading 35th double-double of the regular season, tying an NBA G League single-season record with one game remaining on the Wolves' schedule. Former Iowa Energy forward and NBA veteran Willie Reed set the current NBA G League record during the 2014-15 season.
The Wolves started out hot, outscoring the Warriors 67-54 in the first half while shooting 52.0% from the field and 53.3% from deep.
Four players were in double figures by halftime as the Wolves cruised from there, never letting the lead slip under six points in the remaining two quarters of play.
Michael Bryson finished with 16 points off the bench for Iowa, including a team-high four three-pointers.
Elijah Millsap and Shawne Williams each added 16 points for the Wolves. The two veterans both shot over 50.0% from the floor in tonight's contest.
As a team the Wolves finished the night with a season-high 32 assists, beating its previous mark of 30 assists set twice this season. The Wolves are now 6-0 when registering at least 27 assists.
Melo Trimble finished with nine points and recorded a team-high 10 assists. Trimble has reached double-digit assists in six games this season.
Minnesota Timberwolves first round draft pick Justin Patton turned things on in the second half, registering 12 of his 14 total points in the final 24 minutes of play. Patton also recorded nine rebounds, two assists and two blocked shots in the winning effort.
Terrence Jones paced the Warriors with 18 points and six rebounds. Santa Cruz failed to reach its season benchmarks in field goal percentage and three-point percentage, shooting 44.4% and 27.3% respectively on the evening.
The Wolves close out the 2017-18 regular season tomorrow night on the road against the Agua Caliente Clippers of Ontario. Tipoff is set for 9:00 p.m. CT.
