
Magic Clinch Playoff Berth with Win over 87ers

March 24 - The Lakeland Magic (28-22), NBA G League affiliate of the Orlando Magic, defeated the Delaware 87ers (16-34), 123-115 to clinch the sixth seed in the 2018 NBA G League playoffs in their final regular season game at the RP Funding Center.
The Magic were on a mission from the beginning of the game outscoring the 87ers 33-30 in the first and 36-27 in the second giving them a 69-57 lead going into the locker room at the half. The 87ers came out strong in the third quarter posting 37 points to the Magic's 25 but the Magic were quick to shift the momentum back their way in the fourth leading the 87ers 29-21 and securing a place in their playoffs.
Troy Caupain had an impressive game leading the way with a double-double at 30 points, 10 rebounds and 6 assists. John Petrucelli also had a double-double with 17 points, 11 rebounds and 3 assists. Byron Mullens had 22 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. Alan Anderson was hot off the bench scoring 18 points and 4 rebounds. TJ Price had 16 points, 3 rebounds and 3 assists.
For the 87ers, Christian Wood had a double-double with 25 points, 16 rebounds and 3 assists. James Young scored 32 points and 6 rebounds. Shawn Long came off the bench to score 15 points and 8 rebounds. Shannon Brown had 14 points and Marc Loving had 11 points on the night.
*UPDATE: The Lakeland Magic are locked into the sixth seed in the Eastern Conference and will play against the Erie BayHawks in Erie, Pennsylvania on Tuesday, March 27 at 7PM. The game will be televised on ESPNU. The Lakeland Magic will host a watch party at Glory Days in Lakeland, FL at 7PM.
