(Rochester) The Rochester Americans outshot the Lake Erie Monsters 36-26 tonight, but it wass not enough as they were shut out, 3-0, at Quicken Loans Arena. Tyler Plante made 23 saves as he made his fifth straight start in net for the Amerks. Plante fell to 1-5-0, while Rochester fell to 11-21-1-2 on the season.
Rochester was 0-for-7 on the power play.
Three different Monsters scored for Lake Erie, wile Tyler Weiman notched his first shutout of the season in net. J.D. Corbin, Jamie Lundmark and Brent Kelly combined for Lake Erie's three goals.
The Amerks return home to The BCA on Sunday, December 30th to take on the Syracuse Crunch. The 6:05 p.m. match will be broadcast live on Hot Talk 1280 WHTK, whtk.com and B2 Networks. Fans who bring in a new, unwrapped toy Sunday night will receive a complimentary $13.00 ticket to the game as a part of the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve and UPS Toys for Tots campaign. Fans can enjoy the Labatt postgame party at Nathaniel's Pub at 251 Exchange Blvd. All Rochester area school children, teachers, school employees, administrators and all families can purchase specially priced tickets.
