Allen Americans News Release

Toledo, Ohio - The Allen Americans rebounded after falling last night in Indy, with a 3-1 victory over the top team in the Eastern Conference, the Toledo Walleye, in front of a record standing room only crowd of 8500 at the Huntington Center in Toledo Ohio.

After Kyle Rogers, gave Toledo the early lead with his 6th goal of the season, the Americans would respond scoring three unanswered goals, including a power play goal from Gary Steffes, his ECHL leading 26th of the season, which turned out to be the game winner for Allen. Jamie Schaafsma scored his 8th of the season in the second period to even the game at 1-1 before Steffes gave Allen the lead for good. Rylan Schwartz scored his 6th late in the third, an empty net goal to close the deal.

The Allen Americans improved to 29-6-1-2 and 61 points, that's 17 points up on the second place Wichita Thunder. Allen continues the Midwest road trip on Sunday afternoon in Kalamazoo for a 2:00 pm CST meeting with the Wings.
