Quick Start
Kalamazoo started the scoring yesterday with a goal 46 seconds into the contest. The goal was the quickest this season that the K-Wings have been able to light the lamp.
Lighting the Lamp
Forward Matt Caria posted two goals in the K-Wings 5-2 victory last night against Cincinnati. Caria, who now has 11 goals this season, is tied for the team lead in lamp-lighters with Dane Fox and Curtis Valk.
Getting in their Shots
Out shooting their opponents has been a sign of victory for the K-Wings. Kalamazoo is 12-5-0-0 this season when they out shoot their opponents.
Eight isn't Enough
Kalamazoo begins the day on an eight-game (7-0-0-1) unbeaten streak. The eight-game streak ties the longest unbeaten streak in K-Wings ECHL history (03/01/14-03/17/14).
An Even Dozen
Allen forward Chad Costello begins the day on a 12-game point streak. With 63 points (20 goals, 38 assists), Costello leads the ECHL in scoring.
Finding the Net
When it comes to scoring goals, no one has been better than Gary Steffes. Steffes, who enters play on a four-game goal streak, leads the league with 26 goals this season.
Home Coming
Today is a homecoming for Allen's Riley Gill. Gill, who was a member of the K-Wings for three seasons (2009-10, 2010-11, 2011-12), played his collegiate hockey at Western Michigan University (2006-10).
King of the Mountain
No team has played better hockey this season than the Americans. Allen, who is 9-1-0-0 in their last 10 games, starts the day with the top winning percentage in the entire league at 80.3%.
