Allen, Texas - The Allen Americans defeated the Wichita Thunder by a score of 3-2 on Sunday afternoon at Allen Event Center in front of a crowd of 3,406.

The Americans ended a three-game losing streak to Wichita, despite picking up points in two of the three games. Rylan Schwartz (4), Kyle Follmer (1) and Tyler Ludwig (6) all scored for the Americans, who improved to 22-5-1-2.

Wichita made it close in the third period, closing the gap to 3-2 on Nikita Kashirsky's 6th goal of the season, but that was as close as they would get. Riley Gill stopped 26 of 28 shots to pick up the win, his 16th of the season.

The Americans hit the road for Independence, Missouri, on Tuesday night for a 7:05 pm puck drop. Allen returns home next Saturday and Sunday against those same Missouri Mavericks. Tickets on sale at Allen Event Center box office or online at www.ticketmaster.com.
