Quotes

"It took us till the third period to get any power-play opportunities but it was good. We scored the one five-on-four and the other at the tail end of that two-man advantage. Unfortunately the penalty had just expired before we scored so we couldn't stay on the power play." - Coach Kromm on the Thunder's two power-play goals

"I thought that we got more shots on net but I mean we've been getting enough shots but I was happiest to see we were cutting down their shots and limiting their opportunities, especially as the game wore on. We controlled the final 40 minutes but we have to be prepared. We can't be spotting three goals right away." - Coach Kromm on the Thunder's second and third periods

"Their first goal was an entry on the power play, the second was a bit of a scramble in our end that found the back of the net and the third one was probably one that Shane would want back. It was a short side shot from the corner that beat him. I thought we were a little late on the entry on the first one, if we get across a little quicker they don't get an opportunity to get a shot off. It was the start of the game, it was a very soft call, to put them on the power play to start the game." - Coach Kromm on the Ontario Reign goals

"We outworked them as the game went on. As the second and third period I thought our work level went up and as a result we were able to take the tempo of the game away." - Coach Kromm on his team's compete level
