MANCHESTER, NH - Right wing Mark Mancari scored two goals and an assist in the Rochester Americans 3-1 victory over the Manchester Monarchs in front of 5,506 fans at the Verizon Wireless Arena on Friday night.

Manchester (7-10-2-1) is in sixth place in the Atlantic Division with 17 points. Rochester (10-10-1-2) is in third place in the North Division with 23 points.

At 4:39 of the final frame, Mancari flicked the go-ahead goal over a sprawling Monarchs goaltender Jonathan Quick to give the Americans a 2-1 lead and the eventual game-winner. Right wing Anthony Stewart took the initial shot which missed and bounced out toward the left face-off circle. Corralling the puck was center Drew Larman who sent a pass to Mancari skating toward the crease. Mancari faked a shot sending Quick to the ice before flicking the puck into the top right corner of the net.

After a scoreless first period, the Americans punched their way to a 1-0 lead with Larman's second goal of the season at 8:03 of the second frame. Quick made the initial save off the stick of Stewart while the puck slid to the right doorstep where Mancari and Larman converged. Larman's stick was the last to touch the disk, before it slipped between Quick's skate and the left post.

Monarchs defenseman Brian Boyle tied the game with his fifth power play goal of the season in the third period. Behind the net of goaltender Adam Dennis, right wing Kevin Westgarth dug the puck out and passed it to right wing Teddy Purcell who was to the left of Dennis. Boyle, at the top of the right crease, received a tape-to-tape pass from Purcell and snapped a shot, glove-side, bringing the score to 1-1 at 3:26 of the final stanza.

Mancari added the game winning goal at 4:39 and an empty net goal at 19:53 of the third period handing the Monarchs a 3-1 loss.

Manchester went 1-for-4 on the power play. Rochester was 0-for-3 with the man advantage.

Quick stopped 22 of 24 shots he faced in the loss, while Dennis was awarded the win stopping 27 of 28 shots.
