Aeros take on division-rival Peoria tonight, shuffle roster

HOUSTON, Texas - The Houston Aeros (8-10-1-1) host the Peoria Rivermen (8-7-1-2) tonight at 7:35 p.m. at Toyota Center. Houston trails the Rivermen by only one point in the West Division and are 1-1 versus Peoria this season. Each team has won 3-1 on the road as the Aeros look to improve their 5-0-0-1 November home-record. Houston has also reassigned goaltender Anton Khudobin to the Texas Wildcatters of the ECHL. Houston has also been assigned left wing Matt Kassian from the ECHL affiliate.

Kassian, 21 (10/28/86), has skated in four games with the Aeros this season recording 19 penalty minutes. The Edmonton, Alb., native has played in seven games with the Wildcatters marking one goal and nine PIM with the team. Kassian was drafted in the second round (No. 57 overall) of the 2005 NHL Entry Draft by the Minnesota Wild.

Khudobin, 21 (5/7/86), played 40 minutes of relief Wednesday night stopping all 14 shots in his only appearance with the Aeros. The Kazakhstan, native leads the ECHL with a 1.55 goals-against average and a .951 saver percentage with a record of 5-0-3.

Tonight and tomorrow night are the first two dates for Houston Aeros Charities Toy Drive. The collection will take place at the charities table between sections 111 and 112. All those toys will be donated to the Houston Aeros Power Playroom at Children's Memorial Hermann Hospital. Toys will also be collected at the December 22 game for the drive. Saturday is also Houston Aeros Charities Teddy Bear Toss. All the stuffed animals brought will be tossed onto the ice immediately following the first Aeros goal and donated to KHOU's Spirit of Texas Toy Drive.
