December 29, 2011 - Central Hockey League (CHL)
Allen Americans News Release
Allen, Texas - The Central Hockey League announced the 2011-2012 CHL All Star reserves today, and included on the list were Americans goalie Marco Cousineau and defenseman Dylan King.
"It's a great honor for a couple young talented players like Dylan and Marco," said Americans Head Coach and GM Dwight Mullins.
Dylan King is playing in his second season with the Americans, after joining the team at the end of 2010-2011, as an amateur. The native of Thessalon, Ontario, has played in 17 games for the Americans this season, scoring 3 goals for 3 points. King is currently on call-up to Lake Erie of the American Hockey League, Allen's primary AAA affiliate.
Marco Cousineau joined the Americans in November, after being reassigned to Allen from the Anaheim Ducks of the NHL. Cousineau has won two Central Hockey League awards since joining the Americans. First, he was named CHL Oakley goaltender of the Week on November 15, 2011, and then named the Sherwood Goalie of the Month for November 2011.
"I'm really excited and honored to be selected," said Americans goalie Marco Cousineau. "It's my first professional All Star nomination, so I know this one will always be special, but I wouldn't be here without my great teammates...I'm excited to be playing with Dylan and Bruce."
Cousineau and King will join Americans two-time CHL All Star Bruce Graham, who was named a starter for the All Star Game on Tuesday, and Head Coach and GM Dwight Mullins who will coach the All Stars for the second year in a row.
The Americans host the Laredo Bucks on Friday December 30th and Saturday December 31st at the Allen Event Center. On New Year's Eve, the first 1500 kids (12 and under) receive a FREE Allen Americans junior jersey compliments of Metro PCS.
