Rivet Named to CHL All-Star Team
December 29, 2011 - Central Hockey League (CHL)
Laredo Bucks News Release
LAREDO, TX: The Central Hockey League announced Thursday that Laredo Bucks defensemen Adam Rivet has been selected for the CHL All-Star Team that will play in Prescott Valley, Arizona on January 11th.
The CHL All-Star team will face the Arizona Sundogs in the league's annual All-Star Game.
The 31 year old captain will be making his third All-Star appearance in seven professional seasons, all while playing for the Laredo Bucks. Rivet has appeared in 26 games this season, where he has scored 8 goals and has had 9 assists. He is currently tied for second place with the most points (17) for the Bucks this year. Rivet has appeared in a total of 353 regular season games, scoring 86 goals and 162 assists. He has also appeared in 61 playoff games, where he scored 7 goals and 33 assists.
"It is a real nice honor to be selected to represent the Bucks at the All-Star Game this year," says Laredo Bucks Captain Adam Rivet. "I would like to thank my teammates, coach and the staff of the Laredo Bucks."
Rivet, a native of Fort Erie, Ontario, was named to the CHL All-Rookie Team (05/06), a member of the Presidents' Cup Championship Team (05/06), CHL Defensemen of the Year Finalist (07/08), and a three time CHL All-Star (06/07, 09/10, 11/12).
"Adam has been a great leader for the team this year on a young inexperienced team. He worked hard in the summer to prepare for the season and it paid off. Coming off a season ending injury last year, he has proven to still be one of the top defensemen in the league," states Head Coach Serge Dube. "He was a great guy to play with and an ever bigger joy to coach."
The Laredo Bucks are currently halfway done in their seven game road trip. They will face Allen for two games, Friday December 30th and Saturday December 31st. The Bucks and Americans will face each other for five straight games. The Bucks' next home game will be Saturday January 7th at 7:30pm, when they face the Americans at the Laredo Energy Arena.
