His 2022-23 campaign was stellar both for the Americans and internationally. With Tri-City Suchanek went 27-14-1-2 with a .912 save percentage and a 3.05 goals against average.
At the 2023 IIHF World Junior Championship, Suchanek backstopped Czechia to a silver medal by going 5-2 with a .939 save percentage and 1.38 goals against average. Both marks led the tournament. His play helped Czechia reach the gold medal game for the first time since 2001.
At the beginning of this season Suchanek signed a one-year contract with the Ducks' American Hockey League affiliate, the San Diego Gulls. Spending the majority of the 2023-24 season in the AHL, Suchanek's transition to professional hockey has gone very smooth with a 12-6-3 record, .919 save percentage and 2.56 goals against average.
The Americans would like to congratulate Suchanek on his NHL contract.
