Allen Americans News Release
Wichita, Kansas - The Allen Americans resume their four-game road trip tonight in Wichita at the Intrust Bank Arena. The puck drops at 7:05 pm.
The Americans fresh off their 3-2 overtime victory over the Thunder on Sunday night return to the scene of the crime with plans to sweep the two-game set.
"This is an important week for us said Americans forward Justin Courtnall who is just three games shy of 200 for his professional career. "We need another good start with a solid 60 minute performance. Eric Roy came through for us the other night after we blew a 2-0 lead. We need to do a better job protecting the puck."
The Americans short bodies with Tristan King not on the road trip after suffering an upper-body injury on Sunday have signed forward Jarod Palmer to a contract. Playing his college hockey at the University of Miami of Ohio, Palmer is a former college teammate of Gary Steffes along with former Allen Americans Nino Musitelli and Alec Martinez.
I'm excited for the opportunity, said Palmer. I'm very familiar with Allen and their rich winning tradition. I can't wait to get back on the ice tonight.
Palmer played six games in the National Hockey League with the Minnesota Wild where he scored one goal with four penalty minutes. He also has 117 games in the American Hockey League with Houston. His best numbers came in the 2010-20111 season where he had 28 points in 65 games.
Palmer is expected to be in the lineup tonight for Allen. You can watch the game on ECHL TV or listen on Hot 107.3 FM
