Last Game
Matt White and Ben Marshall scored first period goals and Mac Carruth made 27 saves while Olivier Archambault provided the only Mallard goal as the host Indy Fuel defeated the Mallards 2-1 Sunday.
Skid
The Mallards have lost three straight games. That skid is the Mallards' first regulation losing streak of the season.
Sweep
The Mallards over the weekend dropped both ends of a home-and-home series with the Fuel. A 4-1 home defeat Saturday night preceded Sunday's loss.
First
The Mallards sit atop the ECHL's Midwest Division, three points ahead of a trio of teams tied for second place: Cincinnati, Fort Wayne and Indy.
Undermanned
Due to injuries, call-ups and a suspension, the Mallards have dressed fewer than the allowed 16 skaters for each of their last five games. They had just 14 skaters in uniform Sunday.
Home Sweet Home
While the Mallards (11-3-1) remain tied for the league lead in home wins, they have now lost two of their last three home tilts.
Drought
The Mallards scored just once in each of their two games over the weekend and have been held to two goals or fewer in six of their last seven games. They have dropped into a tie for twenty-second in the ECHL in goals per game (2.6).
Between the Pipes
Steve Michalek is tied for eighth in the ECHL in save percentage (.923). Brody Hoffman stopped 77 of the 83 shots he faced in his last two starts.
Iron Mike
After picking up assists in his last two games, Mike Monfredo is third among ECHL defensemen in assists (18), is tied for third among defensemen in points (21) and is tied for tenth overall in assists.
Arch Madness
By scoring the only Mallard goal Sunday, Archambault became the first Mallard to reach 25 points this season. Archambault has recorded five points (two goals and three assists) in his last four games.
Rook
Matt Neal leads the Mallards in goals (10) and plus/minus rating (+8). Neal is tied for fifth among ECHL rookies in goals and ranks eighth among rookies in points (22).
Special Teams
The Mallards have killed off 40 of their opponents' last 42 power plays to climb to second in the ECHL in penalty killing (87.0 percent). The Mallards rank tenth on the power play (19.1 percent).
Head to Head
The Mallards rallied to win the first of their seven meetings this season with the IceMen 6-5 in overtime on December 6 in Evansville. All-time the Mallards have gone 10-8-0 against the IceMen overall and 4-2-0 in the Quad Cities. The two teams met 16 times in the Central Hockey League in 2010-11 and 2011-12.

Monfredo has played 233 games with the Mallards. He is closing in on eleventh place in team history in games played, a position currently occupied by Kerry Toporowski (236).
