American Cancer Society Daffoil Days Sunday at P-Bruins Game

The American Cancer Society will join with Blue Cross & Blue Shield of Rhode Island (BCBSRI) and the Providence Bruins for a Daffodil Days celebration Sunday, March 16 at 4:05 p.m., when the Providence Bruins take on the Wilkes-Barre Scranton Penguins at the Dunk in Providence.

BCBSRI BlueAngel volunteers will be on hand to increase last-minute daffodil sales to benefit the American Cancer Society's annual effort. Bouquets of fresh daffodils will be available for $10. BCBSRI is the corporate sponsor for Sunday's game and is collaborating with the Providence Bruins and American Cancer Society in this annual event.

"Our thanks and appreciation go out to the Providence Bruins and Blue Cross & Blue Shield of Rhode Island for their support and participation of the annual Daffodil Days," said Jim Beardsworth, spokesman for the American Cancer Society. "Through their partnership, the Society will be able to reach thousands in this effort to raise important funds for cancer research, education and patient services."

"As an organization, the Providence Bruins are committed to doing whatever we can to help the cause of fighting cancer," said Bruins head coach Scott Gordon. "It is our pleasure to get involved in the annual Daffodil Days sponsored by the American Cancer Society."
