Tuesday, March 11

Stars vs Lake Erie Monsters 7:07 pm CDT

The Stars have not seen the Monsters since a 3-2 loss at Wells Fargo Arena on Oct. 27 as the teams wrap up their four-game season series. The Stars swept two games in Cleveland, 4-2 and 6-2, on October 16 and 17 and thus, lead the season series with a 2-1 record. The Stars are playing their first game on home ice since Feb. 22 and are coming home after going 3-2-1-0 on their recently completed season-high six-game road trip. The Stars finished the trip on Sunday with a 4-3 overtime loss at Rockford. The Stars are 4-4-2-0 in their last 10 games. This game versus the Monsters will also be the Stars¡¦ last against a non-West Division team. After Tuesday, the Stars will have 14 games remaining, six at home and eight on the road, all within their division. The Monsters are 3-6-0-1 in their last 10 contests and have an overall mark of 21-29-4-7 (53 points) through 61 games of their inaugural season, good for 6th place in the North Division. Lake Erie is coming off a 5-3 win vs. Grand Rapids on Saturday.

The Stars and Flames will see each other quite a bit in the final month of the season. The Stars play Quad City in six of their final 14 games beginning on Friday, three of which will be at home and three on the road. The last time the Stars faced-off with the Flames was Jan. 12 at Wells Fargo Arena. That game went to a shootout before Quad City claimed a 3-2 win to drop the Stars season record to 1-3-0-2 versus the Flames. The last time the Stars traveled to the I-Wireless Center was on Dec. 21, a 2-1 loss. The Flames were last in action on Saturday when they succumbed to the Wolves in Chicago 5-3. The Flames are 4-5-0-1 in their last 10 games and are situated in 7th place in the West, three points ahead of the Stars, at 29-25-2-7 (67 points).

The Stars and Flames close out a two-game home-and-home series at Wells Fargo Arena. This is the Stars¡¦ ¡§Pink in the Rink¡¨ game with the ice colored pink, specialty jerseys that will be auctioned after the game, a sports memorabilia auction and much more. Proceeds are going to the John Stoddard Cancer Center in Des Moines.

Stars 3 @ Rockford 4 (OT)

Rockford, IL--- For the third time in the last four games, the Iowa Stars rallied from a third period deficit to force overtime, but unlike the other two, this game resulted in a loss. Jack Skille completed a hat trick with a goal at 3:44 of overtime to lead the Rockford Icehogs to 4-3 win over the Stars Sunday afternoon in Rockford. The Stars fell behind 2-0 early in the second on Skille¡¦s first two markers of the game with the first coming in the first and the second 1:55 into the second. Chris Conner and Konstantin Pushkarev tied the score by netting a pair later in the second period. The Icehogs reclaimed the lead 2:28 later and took the 3-2 advantage into the third period. Janos Vas tallied his 16th of the season at 15:35 of the third bringing the Stars even and forcing overtime. The Stars were 1-for-7 on the power play while holding Rockford scoreless on four power play chances. The Stars also held the shots advantage for the game 38-22, including 15-9 in the second period. Steve Silverthorn replaced Tobias Stephan after the Icehogs grabbed their 2-0 lead early in the second and took the loss, stopping 16 of 18 shots in 41:42 of play. The Stars finished their six-game road trip with a 3-2-1-0 record and now return home for the first time since Feb. 22 on Tuesday when they host the Lake Erie Monsters. Friday, March 7

Stars 5 @ Chicago 4 (SO)

ROSEMONT, IL --- A two-goal third period comeback led to a 5-4 shootout win for the Iowa Stars versus the Chicago Wolves Friday night at Allstate Arena. James Neal and BJ Crombeen each scored in the third while Perttu Lindgren was the only player to convert in the shootout giving the Stars the win in the final of eight meetings this season with the Wolves. The Stars finished the series 2-6-0-0. After trailing 1-0 following the first period, the Stars tied the game in the second off a power play tip-in by Tom Wandell at 4:24. Chris Lee shot the puck off a Francis Wathier pass prior to Wandell¡¦s tip, his fourth goal of the season. The Wolves reclaimed the lead with a goal at 12:00 of the second, then expanded the lead to 3-1 55 seconds into the third. Neal¡¦s and Crombeen¡¦s goals followed at 12:19 and 18:45, respectively. Lindgren assisted on both to finish with a two-point night. Tobias Stephan stopped 26 of 29 shots during regulation and overtime. He followed that up with a five-for-five performance in the shootout against the league¡¦s top scoring team. The Stars outshot the Wolves 37-29.
