Amaury Sanit Activated From The Disabled List

(Manchester, NH)- The Trenton Thunder, Double-A Affiliate of the New York Yankees, have announced that RHP Amaury Sanit has been activated from the Disabled List. OF Seth Fortenberry has been transferred to the roster of the Staten Island Yankees (SS).

Sanit was placed on the Disabled List on May 10th. He had been promoted from Tampa to Trenton on April 25th, and appeared in five games for the Thunder. He was 0-1 with a 1.69 ERA and two saves. The Havana, Cuba native made his professional debut for the Yankees last season with the Dominican Summer League Yankees. He appeared in two games and collected one save. Sanit was signed by the Yankees as a non-drafted free agent on August 9, 2008.

Fortenberry was hitting .150 with seven RBI in 35 games for the Thunder. He was tied for second in the Eastern League in triples with three. Last season, he had a .263 BA with 12 home runs and 46 RBI in 119 games for Tampa (High-A). He led the team in home runs and walks (64). Following the 2008 season, he was tabbed as having the best outfield arm in the organization according to Baseball America. Fortenberry was originally selected by the Yankees in the 11th round of the 2006 draft.

Trenton and New Hampshire continue a four-game series tonight at Merchantsauto.com Stadium. Game time is set for 7:05 pm. RHP Ryan Pope (2-2, 4.32) will start for the Thunder against New Hampshire RHP Brandon Magee (2-1, 2.63).
