FOR ALTOONA: LHP Daniel Moskos will toe the rubber for Altoona in his 10th start (11th appearance overall) of the season. Moskos has pitched 6.0 innings or more in seven of his last eight starts. The former Pirates' 2007 first round draft choice (fourth overall) out of Clemson University is ranked by Baseball America as Pittsburgh's 19th top prospect. Moskos is 1-1 with a 5.54 ERA in four appearances this season against Erie.

FOR ERIE: The ‘Wolves will send right-hander righty Jonah Nickerson to the hill for his 10th start of the season. Nickerson will make his fourth start against the Curve where he is 0-1 with a 6.32 ERA so far. Nickerson was Detroit's seventh round draft pick in June 2006 out of Oregon State University. Nickerson spent the entire '08 campaign with Lakeland (High-A) and was tied for the Florida State League lead in wins (12).

LAST TIME OUT: A six-run third inning for Altoona proved to be the difference as the Curve pounded out 14 hits in a 10-8 win over the SeaWolves at Jerry Uht Park.

CURVE/ERIE SERIES: The Altoona Curve and Erie SeaWolves will meet for the 15th time this year of the scheduled 25 total meetings. The ‘Wolves are the Curve's most common opponent in 2009...Erie has won 10 of the first 14 contests...Max Leon has been Erie's best against Altoona hitting .344 with 10 RBIs and eight extra base hits ...Curve SS Brian Friday owns a .452 average (14x31) and two home runs in the season series to lead Altoona.

GORKYS TO ALTOONA: As part of the blockbuster trade involving the Pirates and Braves in which OF Nate McLouth was sent to Atlanta, the Altoona Curve will receive the cornerstone return piece of that deal in 21-year old outfielder Gorkys Hernandez. Hernandez was named by Baseball America as the fourth best prospect in the Braves system. In four-plus seasons, Hernandez has 104 career stolen bases; including a career high 54 steals in 2007.

DELANEY DELIVERS: After another strong plate performance last night (2x5, 2 RBIs) Curve outfielder Jason Delaney has driven home a run in each of the last six games, the longest streak for any Curve player this season. Delaney is also tied for the Curve lead in multi-RBI games with eight. Delaney holds the Altoona Curve franchise record of 12 straight games with an RBI which he set in 2007.

SERIESOUSLY SPEAKING: For just the second time this season, the Altoona Curve will look for a series victory. The Curve is 1-11-4 in series this year. The only series win for Altoona came by way of a three-game sweep against last place Harrisburg on May 11-13.

WESTBROOK TO THROW AGAINST ALTOONA: Cleveland Indians' righty Jake Westbrook will make a rehab start against the Curve on Saturday in one of the games of the doubleheader. It will be Westbrook's first game action since June 2008 before undergoing Tommy John surgery.
