ENTERING TONIGHT'S ACTION...

Tonight, the SeaWolves look to salvage a series split as they take on the Altoona Curve (Pittsburgh Pirates) in the final game of a four-game series at Jerry Uht Park. Last night, Erie committed a season-high five errors and fell by a score of 10-8, dropping two of the first three games of the series. In the series, Erie has committed 10 errors and against the Curve at home the ‘Wolves have had their three-highest error-filled games (April 8 & June 1 - Four error games, June 3 - five error game). The Howlers are the top home team in the EL. At "The Uht" this season, Erie is 20-9 with a .689 winning percentage. With last night's loss and Akron falling to Reading 6-1, the ‘Wolves are still three games out of first place but only a game ahead of the third place R-Phils. The top three teams in the EL South are separated by just four games...Righty Jonah Nickerson takes the mound for the ‘Wolves, making his 11th appearance, 10th start and fourth start against Altoona. He is coming off of his best outing of the season in his last start against Akron where he went seven innings, allowing a run on six hits with three walks and three strikeouts. He is 0-1 with two no-decisions in three starts against the Curve...Lefty Daniel Moskos takes the mound for Altoona, making his 11th appearance, 10th start and fourth appearance against the ‘Wolves. In three appearances against Erie, Moscos is 1-1 with a no-decisions. He took a no-decision in his last outing against Trenton going 6.1 innings, allowing a run on five hits with three walks and a strikeout...Offensively, the SeaWolves are hitting .308 in their last 10 games and .319 in their last five. Erie has hit 16 home runs over the last 10 games.
