Allen Shines with Four Hits as Otters Swept in Doubleheader

EVANSVILLE, Ind. - The Evansville Otters (44-24) received four hits from infielder Josh Allen but the Otters dropped both games of a doubleheader to the Frontier Greys (32-34), falling 5-1 and 2-1 on Wednesday night.

Infielder Josh Allen posted a three hit game in the opening contest and another hit in the final contest to complete a four-hit night.

Down 2-0 in the opener, Evansville cut the deficit in half with a third inning sacrifice fly from outfielder Chris Sweeney.

Ahead 2-1, the Greys tallied another run on an Otters' fielding error in the fifth and added a two-run home run in the sixth.

Evansville right-hander Brett Marshall (1-1) took the defeat in the 5-1 loss. He yielded five runs (three earned) in 5.2 innings.

The Greys also took the early lead in game two with a run in each of the first two innings.

Trailing 2-0, Evansville drew closer by scoring on a wild pitch in the fifth.

The Otters brought the tying run to the plate in the sixth and seventh innings but were unable to scratch across the tying run in the doubleheader finale.

Right-hander Trevor Walch (8-5) received the game two loss, despite yielding two runs in 6.0 innings.
