The Crushers would respond with 3 of their own in the 3rd though to even the game at 5. Baskette would find his groove though afterward, holding down the Crushers for the next 4 innings before exiting after the 7th.
Anthony Renteria would prove the hero in the 8th, driving in Elijah Trail from 2nd with a 2-out base hit to make it 6-5. Every run the Aves scored in the game came with 2 outs.
Roberto Padilla and Patrick Dolan would combine to throw 2 scoreless frames in the 8th and 9th, and the Aviators got the sweep of the originally scheduled 3 game set.
