El Paso Chihuahuas News Release
The El Paso Chihuahuas closed their four-game series in Tacoma with a 1-0 win over the Rainiers Monday night. It was El Paso's seventh shutout of the season. The Chihuahuas won three of the four games, their seventh series win in the last eight tries.
Logan Allen pitched five shutout innings for El Paso and moved his Triple-A ERA to 0.84 in his first four Pacific Coast League starts. Kazuhisa Makita, Carter Capps and Rowan Wick each threw scoreless relief outings out of the El Paso bullpen Monday.
The only run of the game came on a second inning RBI single by Chihuahuas' designated hitter Shane Peterson. Monday's win was El Paso's 79th of the season, setting a new team record, eclipsing the 2015 Chihuahuas, who finished 78-66.
