Rome, GA - The 2006 South Atlantic League All-Star teams have been announced and the Rome Braves lead the league in the number of selections to this year's group. Rome manager Randy Ingle will manage the Southern squad along with pitching coach Jim Czajkowski, hitting coach Bobby Moore, and trainer Greg Hall.
Pitchers Jo Jo Reyes and Chris Vines along with catcher Max Ramirez, first baseman Isaiah Ka'aihue, and third baseman Eric Campbell round out the Rome selections. "It's a great honor for Randy and our coaching staff to be selected to this years team, not to mention the players who have all contributed to an outstanding first half of the season. This is indeed a complement to the Atlanta Braves organization and a fine representation of Rome," says Rome Braves General Manager Michael Dunn.
The 47th annual All-Star game will be played in East Lake, Ohio on June 20th with the Lake County Captains serving as the host club The Northern and Southern Division squads are comprised of 25 players with a representative from each team. Rome will host the All-Star game in 2007.
