AHL Grand Rapids Griffins

All Remaining Griffins Games to Air on ESPN 96.1 FM

April 15, 2016 - American Hockey League (AHL)
Grand Rapids Griffins News Release

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - The radio broadcasts of the Grand Rapids Griffins' final two regular season contests, as well as all games during the team's upcoming 2016 Calder Cup Playoff run, are moving to ESPN 96.1 FM from Newsradio WOOD 106.9 FM/1300 AM.

The switch will provide a consistent home for Labatt Griffins Hockey throughout the remainder of the 2015-16 regular and postseason, given conflicts that would otherwise arise as Newsradio WOOD 106.9 FM/1300 AM begins its first season as the West Michigan flagship station for the Detroit Tigers.

ESPN 96.1 FM already serves as the Griffins' radio affiliate whenever the team plays a weekday matinee game or has a scheduling conflict with University of Michigan football. Newsradio WOOD 106.9 FM/1300 AM will resume its status as the Griffins' flagship station when the AHL's 2016-17 schedule begins in October.

Bob Kaser will provide the play-by-play on ESPN 96.1 FM tonight when the Griffins visit the Rockford IceHogs at 8 p.m. EDT. The broadcast can be heard over the air or streamed through espn961.com and the iHeartRadio app.
