
Panthers Draft Picks Crouse, Laamikko Join Pirates

Portland, ME - Florida Panthers General Manager Dale Tallon today announced the signing of forward Juho Lammikko to an Entry Level Contract. In addition, Portland Pirates General Manager Eric Joyce today announced the signing of Lammikko and forward Lawson Crouse to Amateur Tryout Contracts for the remainder of the 2015-16 regular season and Calder Cup Playoffs.
Crouse, a 6-foot-4, 212 pound left wing from Mt. Brydges, Ontario, was the Florida Panthers' first selection in the 2015 NHL Entry Draft with the 11th Overall pick. The 18 year-old played in 49 regular season games in his third season with the OHL's Kingston Frontenacs in 2015-16, scoring 23 goals and 39 assists for 62 points. In nine OHL playoff games with Kingston, Crouse added seven goals and four assists for 11 points.
Crouse has represented Canada at the IIHF World Junior Championship in both 2015 and 2016. He helped lead Canada to a Gold Medal on home soil in 2015. He signed an Entry Level Contract with the Panthers on July 15, 2015.
Lammikko, a 6-foot-2, 207 pound center from Noormarkku, Finland, also joins the Pirates from the OHL's Kingston Frontenacs. Selected by Florida in the Third Round (65th Overall) of the 2014 NHL Entry Draft, Lammikko played 59 regular season games for Kingston in 2015-16, scoring 22 goals and 33 assists for 55 points. In nine OHL playoff games, he scored three goals and four assists for seven points.
Lammikko won a Gold Medal at the 2016 IIHF World Junior Championship, helping guide Finland to the title in his home country.
Both Crouse and Lammikko will join the Pirates in time for tonight's final regular season home game at Cross Insurance Arena against the Bridgeport Sound Tigers.
