Waterloo Black Hawks News Release
Ryan Wischow stopped all 25 Waterloo Black Hawks shots Friday and the Fargo Force prevailed in a 6-0 contest at Scheels Arena.
The game broke Fargo's way early. Carson Musser opened the scoring with a long shot from the left point at 1:52. It was just past the midpoint of the opening frame at 11:25 when Blake Lizotte added to the lead with a chance from the right circle during a power play. Just 18 seconds later, Hugo Reinhardt scored in transition, building the lead to 3-0.
Denis Smirnov contributed 1:33 into the second, swiping the puck at his own blue line and speeding up the rink for a shorthanded breakaway goal. During the period, the Force limited Waterloo to four shots on goal.
Fargo added two more third period power play tallies. At 10:53, Charlie Gerard received a cross-slot pass and snapped a shot into the net from the left circle. Then with 55.7 seconds remaining in regulation, Tommy Miller lifted the puck into the net from the right point.
The Hawks and Force get together for an instant rematch Saturday at 7:05 in Fargo.
