Albuquerque Wins Series After 10-3 Victory over El Paso

El Paso, TX - Coco Montes continued his torrid pace at the plate as he went 2-for-5 and collected three RBI, a double and triple while six Albuquerque pitchers stifled the Chihuahuas offense en route to a 10-3 Isotopes victory Sunday afternoon at Southwest University Park.

With the triumph, Albuquerque won the series, 4-2.

Topes Scope: - The Isotopes won their second series of the year. The last time Albuquerque won two of their first three series to begin a season was 2018 when they took three of five at Salt Lake in the season's opening set then won two of three from Las Vegas in Albuquerque. Salt Lake captured four of five in the Duke City following the two series wins.

-Albuquerque has now won back-to-back road series for the first time since winning three of four from Tacoma April 30 - May 3, 2018, and taking three of four from Reno May 8-11, 2018.

-The Isotopes are now 3-0 in series finales on the year.

-Albuquerque is now 9-0 when scoring at least seven runs.

-The Isotopes won their first game (1-6) of the year after being outhit by their opponent

-The Isotopes scored three first inning runs. They lead all of Triple-A in the category with 21.

-Albuquerque is now 4-0 in day games.

-The Isotopes have tallied double-digit hits in seven of their last eight games.

-Albuquerque did not commit an error for the 10th game this season. They are tied for the 3rd-fewest errors in all of Triple (7).

-Connor Kaiser registered his second three-hit game in his last five contests to extend his hit streak to five-straight. During the span, he is hitting .500 (10x20) with four doubles and three RBI. He has four multi-hit efforts on the year.

-Montes extended his on-base streak to 13 with a 2-for-5 night with three RBI, a double and triple. During the streak he is slashing .423/.516/.827 with seven doubles, a triple, four homers, 16 RBI and nine walks. He has a hit in 11 of the 13 contests while recording eight multi-hit efforts, including three-straight. For the year, he has nine multi-hit efforts, which leads the club. He also has an extra-base hit in eight of the 15 games he's played.

-Michael Toglia recorded his third multi-hit effort of the year with his 2-for-5 performance.

-Kyle Datres tallied his first Triple-A hit and RBI in the top of the third on a two-run single. It's his first multi-RBI effort since Sept. 15, 2022, with Double-A Hartford. He reached base three times (walk and two singles).

-Jonathan Morales tallied a double and two RBI on the day. He now has a five-game hitting streak. During the stretch, he is hitting .292 (7x24) with three doubles and three RBI.

-Albuquerque hitters were fanned 13 times, tying a season-high set twice before.

-Daniel Bard made an MLB rehab appearance and tossed scoreless seventh frame, fanning three of four batters he faced.

-Daniel Cope's six-game hitting streak came to an end after going 0-for-4.

On Deck: After an off-day Monday, the Isotopes will begin a six-game set against the Oklahoma City Dodgers Tuesday at 6:35 pm at RGCU Field. Albuquerque will hold a Jackie Robinson Celebration pre-game ceremony while the Isotope players and coaches will all wear number 42 in honor of Jackie Robinson.
