Salt Lake Bees News Release
Las Vegas broke a 5-5 tie in the 8th inning, as they received a pair of bases-loaded walks in the Aviators 7-5 win over the Salt Lake Bees on Saturday night. The Bees had tied the game in the eighth at 5-5 on an RBI single by Trey Cabbage, but a pair of singles and a walk loaded the bases for Las Vegas in the bottom of the eighth before Jonathan Holder (0-1) walked consecutive batters to force in the go-ahead runs. Salt Lake loaded the bases with two outs in the ninth, but Livan Soto went down swinging to end the game.
Mickey Moniak led the Bees' thirteen-hit attack with three hits, including a triple, while Andrew Velazquez added two hits, including his second home run of the series. Salt Lake starter Cesar Valdez went four and one-third innings and allowed five runs on eight hits with five strikeouts and two walks. The Bees now lead the series three games to two with the finale coming up on Sunday afternoon.
