Kalamazoo Native is Once Again Named the UHL's Sher-Wood Goaltender of the Week

Kalamazoo, MI- The Kalamazoo Wings of the United Hockey League announce that goaltender Chad Alban has been named the United Hockey League's Goaltender of the Week for the period ending March 2nd.

Alban finished the week with a perfect record of 3-0-0, with all the victories coming against the top three teams in the Western Conference. Chad started the week knocking a side 33 shots in the K-Wings 3-1 victory over the Muskegon Fury. The netminders success continued on the road, as Alban made a K-Wings season high 46 saves and led Kalamazoo to a 5-4 shootout victory over the Quad City Mallards. Alban finished the week at home setting a side 36 shots in a 5-3 victory over the Missouri River Otters.

The honor for Alban is the second time this season that he has been selected Goaltender of the Week. Alban was last earned the award for the period ending December 8th, when the Kalamazoo native registered a record of 1-0-1, had a goals against average of 2.00, and a save percentage of .943.

Alban has proved to be a minuteman for the Kalamazoo, as the goaltender has started 30 straight games for the K-Wings. Besides adding to his mantle with awards, the five-year professional continues to establish personal milestones. Last Sunday (3/2), versus Missouri was Alban's 200th career game, and with his victory last night in Flint, Chad is just one victory away from 100 for his career. Alban will have a chance to reach the century mark for victories on Wednesday night, as the K-Wings travel to Moline, Illinois, to battle the Quad City Mallards.
