Kalamazoo, MI- The Kalamazoo Wings of the United Hockey League announce that goaltender Chad Alban has been named the United Hockey League's Goaltender of the Week for the period ending March 2nd.
Alban finished the week with a perfect record of 3-0-0, with all the victories coming against the top three teams in the Western Conference. Chad started the week knocking a side 33 shots in the K-Wings 3-1 victory over the Muskegon Fury. The netminders success continued on the road, as Alban made a K-Wings season high 46 saves and led Kalamazoo to a 5-4 shootout victory over the Quad City Mallards. Alban finished the week at home setting a side 36 shots in a 5-3 victory over the Missouri River Otters.
The honor for Alban is the second time this season that he has been selected Goaltender of the Week. Alban was last earned the award for the period ending December 8th, when the Kalamazoo native registered a record of 1-0-1, had a goals against average of 2.00, and a save percentage of .943.
