The K-Wings and Meijer Announce Winners of Coloring Contest Kalamazoo, MI- The Kalamazoo Wings of the United Hockey League and Meijer announce the winners of the first ever color Slappy contest.

The grand prize winner was Clara Clark (age 7) of Kalamazoo, MI. Clara will receive a $100 Meijer Toy City shopping spree, 8 K-Wings tickets to an upcoming hockey game, a photo opportunity with Slappy, and a K-Wings team autographed jersey.

The first prize winner was Marissa Janssen (age 5), also of Kalamazoo. Marissa will receive a $50 Meijer Toy City shopping spree, 4 tickets to an upcoming K-Wings game, a photo opportunity with Slappy, a Slappy bobblehead, and a K-Wings puck.

Also winning prizes for second and third place are Hanna Bowman (age 8) of Vicksburg, MI, and Mary Holloway (age 10) of Mattawan, MI. Both girls will receive a $25 Meijer Toy City shopping spree, an autographed K-Wings puck, 4 tickets to an upcoming K-Wings game, and a set of K-Wings trading cards.

"We are extremely happy with the number of drawings we received," said Director of Corporate Sales Jim Burlew. "What made this contest such a success is all the enthusiasm displayed by the kids that entered the contest, as well as the tremendous effort everyone at Meijer gave in promoting it."

The Slappy coloring contest was run among participating Kalamazoo area stores for children 12 years and younger. All drawing that were submitted at Meijer stores were put into a random drawing to select the contest winners.
