Agua Caliente Clippers Acquire J.J. Avila

The Agua Caliente Clippers today announced that the team has acquired forward J.J. Avila from the Texas Legends in exchange for guard Ryan Boatright.

Avila, 27, appeared in 14 games (one start) for the Mavericks G League affiliate this season, averaging 5.0 points and 2.4 rebounds, while shooting 64.3 percent from the field in 11.4 minutes. He holds career averages of 7.1 points, 4.7 rebounds and 1.7 assists, while shooting 46.3 percent from the field and 82.0 percent from the free-throw line in 18.5 minutes, spanning 105 appearances (25 starts) across three G League seasons with Texas and the Windy City Bulls. Avila played four collegiate seasons, transferring to Colorado State after playing his freshman and sophomore campaigns at Navy, and holds collegiate career averages of 15.1 points and 6.8 rebounds in 31.5 minutes across 115 appearances (103 starts). The 6'7", 246-pound forward is a native of McAllen, TX.

Boatright, 25, appeared in seven games (four starts) for Agua Caliente this season, averaging 7.4 points, 5.0 assists and 2.1 rebounds in 22.9 minutes. He appeared in 20 games (five starts) for the Grand Rapids Drive in 2015-16, averaging 11.1 points, 2.9 assists and 3.0 rebounds in 21.1 minutes. A four-year product of the University of Connecticut, Boatright holds collegiate career averages of 14.0 points, 3.8 assists and 3.5 rebounds in 33.8 minutes across 128 appearances (110 starts). The 5'11", 175-pound guard is a native of Aurora, IL.
