Texas Legends News Release

FRISCO, TX - The Texas Legends (8-11) took back-to-back victories in back-to-back home sellouts with a win over the Delaware Blue Coats (6-10) 110-95 Saturday night in Frisco.

Delaware controlled the first half, going up by as many as 14. The visitors were shooting 57% and doubled the Legends output beyond the arc with 8 threes to Texas' 4.

Facing an eight-point deficit out of the locker room, Texas stifled the Blue Coats and went on a 16-5 run midway through the third to take control. Holding Delaware to 15 points in the quarter, the Legends used a balanced offense to spread their lead to double-digits before the buzzer but Cameron Oliver slammed one in late to make it an eight-point game going into the final twelve. Four minutes into the fourth, Texas extended the lead to 15, their largest of the night, but Oliver answered quickly again. The two teams exchanged baskets, but Texas maintained at least an eight-point distance and finished the final two minutes perfect at the free throw line to put a 15-point cap on the night.

Daryl Macon led the Legends with 23 points, 4 rebounds, and 8 assists while New Orleans Pelicans assignee Kenrich Williams added 19 points, 9 rebounds, and 2 steals. Ray Spalding posted 14 points, 8 rebounds, and 3 blocks off the bench, and Keith Hornsby added 11 points, 2 steals. CJ Leslie and Josh Newkirk added 10 points each to round out the double-digit scoring.

Delaware's starting five all finished with double-digits led by Oliver with 21 points, 15 rebounds and Jared Brownridge with 20 points, 5 rebounds, and 6 assists. Former Legend Cory Jefferson finished with 16 points, 9 rebounds, and 3 blocks in his first return to Dr Pepper Arena. Demetrius Jackson added 14 points, 5 assists and Haywood Highsmith grabbed 11 points, 7 rebounds.

The Legends head to the 2018 G League Showcase next, opening with a matchup against the Erie Bayhawks Wednesday at 7pm CT followed by the Raptors 905 Friday at 7pm CT. Fans can catch both games live on ESPNU.
