Oklahoma City Blue News Release
OKLAHOMA CITY - The Oklahoma City Blue (13-4), fell to the Fort Wayne Mad Ants (7-7), 113-94, on Saturday night.
Early in the fourth quarter, Oklahoma City trailed by 19 points before a 6-0 run, capped by a layup from Dez Wells, cut into Fort Wayne's lead. The Mad Ants went on a 13-1 run of their own, putting the game out of reach, as the Blue dropped only its second game at home this season.
"We're obviously disappointed with the game," Head Coach Mark Daigneault said. "But we just finished a tough stretch and we're looking forward to getting a couple days of rest and recovery and then getting back to work before we head out to Vegas next week."
Wells led the Blue off the bench, tallying 20 points, five assists and four rebounds. Richard Solomon scored a team-high 24 points along with 14 rebounds for his eighth double-double of the season.
The Blue recorded its 16th game outscoring an opponent in the paint, scoring 56 to the Mad Ants' 48.
Oklahoma City trailed 56-40 at halftime and exchanged blows with Fort Wayne in the third, eventually going on a 5-0 run to trim the lead to 73-60. Fort Wayne's Rob Gray scored nine points in the quarter to put the Mad Ants ahead 83-66 heading into the final frame.
Gray led Fort Wayne with 31 points off the bench, one of four in double figures for the visitors.
Up next, Oklahoma City heads to the 2018 MGM Resorts NBA G League Winter Showcase in Las Vegas, Nev. to play the Grand Rapids Drive on Friday, Dec. 21 at 2:30 p.m. CST.
