Published on April 16, 2009 under Eastern League (EL1)
Akron RubberDucks News Release
The Aeros made a roster move today, placing IF Jared Goedert on the disabled list with a right oblique strain and receiving C Armando Camacaro from Class AAA Columbus.
Goedert started at third base in each of Akron's first five games before departing midway through Monday night's contest against Altoona. The native of Concordia, KS was hitting just .154 (2-13) on the year but had drawn six walks against just one strikeout for an impressive on-base percentage of .421.
Camacaro opened the season on Columbus's disabled list with a left calf strain and thus has not appeared in a game this year. The veteran catcher from Guarenas, VZ batted .233 with four homers and 14 RBI in 22 games for the Aeros last season and also spent time with Class AAA Buffalo and Class A Kinston. He has not yet been assigned a jersey number.
