3BAerodynamics...
It Hasn't Been All Bad...Even though the Aeros haven't played for five days, the pitching rotation is a mess and the very real possibility exists that someone will forget what direction first base is in this morning's doubleheader, the good news for Akron is that the club has only lost a half-game to Harrisburg in the standings during this bizzaro All-Star break in the second week of May. The Aeros stayed within six games of the Senators after Saturday's win over Trenton, and the club is currently 6.5 games back in fourth place in the Southern Division entering play this morning.
Getting Defensive...With Saturday's errorless game, the Aeros have gone five consecutive games without a defensive miscue. Akron's last error came on May 5th when RF Stephen Head booted a single against Altoona in the eighth inning. Akron is seventh in the Eastern League with a .973 fielding percentage and 36 errors in 35 games this season. The Aeros have turned 32 double plays on the year. Behind the plate, Armando Camacaro has caught six of 11 runners (55%) trying to steal this season in 96.2 innings as the backstop.
Did You Know...This is the longest stretch the Aeros have gone without playing a game since April 5th-8th of last year, when the entire season-opening four-game series with Binghamton was postponed because of snow.
