Erie SeaWolves News Release

The SeaWolves dropped their 10th straight ballgame on Thursday afternoon at Prince Georges Stadium, 2-0, against the Bowie Baysox.

Luke French turned out another solid start for Erie, only to take a loss. It marked the second straight game where an Erie starting pitcher went seven or more innings, allowing less than three runs. Luis Marte allowed just one run over eight innings on Wednesday.

Bowie took a lead on Erie in the bottom of the third against French. Brian Peterson led off with a double and Travis Brown singled to put runners on first and second for Blake Davis. Davis singled home Peterson for a 1-0 Baysox lead. French induced a ground ball from Jonathan Tucker for the first out of the inning but walked Carlos Rojas to load the bases for Lou Montanez. Montanez hit a sacrifice fly to right field, scoring Brown for a 2-0 lead.

Baysox starter Chris Tillman held the 'Wolves to just three hits over six scoreless innings. Erie loaded the bases on Tillman in the second inning but could not bring a run home to score. He allowed just one hit over the final four innings he pitched.

French went seven innings for the 'Wolves, allowing two runs on seven hits with three walks and three strikeouts. He limited the Baysox to just one hit over the final four innings he pitched in the game.

Four Baysox pitchers, Tillman, Ryan Keefer, Rommie Lewis and Julio Manon combined to keep the 'Wolves hitless over the final six innings of the game. Manon converted on his 12th save opportunity of season.
