RECENTLY...The Aeros took two out of three from Harrisburg on their brief, three game road trip.
YESTERDAY...The Aeros suffered their worst lost in franchise history, 18-0 to Trenton.
TODAY...The Aeros look to bounce back during tonight's doubleheader. RHPs JENSEN LEWIS and BEAR BAY take the mound for the Aeros in games one and two respectively.
HIGH HONORS...RHP ADAM MILLER has been named the Eastern League Pitcher of the Year for 2006. Miller has been the ace of the Southern Division leading Akron pitching staff, compiling a record of 13-6 with a 2.88 ERA and a 1.14 WHIP while striking out 142 batters and walking 41 in 140.2 innings of work this season. The right-hander has been dominant for the Aeros all season, giving up one earned run or less in 14 of his 24 appearances and striking out at least seven batters in a game nine different times. Adam, a native of McKinney, Texas, is currently tied for the league lead in wins (13) and is also among the league leaders in shutouts (1-tied 2nd), ERA (2.88-3rd), strikeouts (142-3rd), WHIP (1.14-7th) and innings pitched (140.2-9th).
MORE HIGH HONORS... Aeros Manager TIM BOGAR has been named the Eastern League Manager of the Year for 2006. In his first season with the Aeros, Bogar has led his club to a league-best record of 79-51 (.608). The Aeros currently have a 7.5 game lead in the Southern Division standings and are poised to win the Southern Division regular season title for the fourth time in the past five seasons. Bogar, who was selected by Baseball America as the "Best Manager Prospect" in the Eastern League this season.
