Aeros clinch playoff spot

AKRON, OH - With their 10-9 defeat of Trenton in game one of a double header tonight, combined with the 5-4 loss by Reading to Connecticut, the Akron Aeros have clinched a spot in the 2006 Eastern League playoffs. This will mark the Aeros fourth time in five seasons to participate in the Eastern League playoffs, winning a championship in 2003 and 2005. The Aeros hold a 7.5 game lead over second place Altoona in the Southern Division. The magic number to clinch the Eastern League Regular Season Southern Division Championship now stands at 5.0 heading into game two of the double header with the Trenton Thunder.
