Milwaukee Admirals News Release
Milwaukee, WI - Milwaukee Admirals President Jon Greenberg announced today that Olympic Gold Medalists and Wisconsin natives Matt Hamilton and Alex Rigsby will be honored at the team's game this Sunday, March 25th when the team hosts the Iowa Wild at 5 pm at Panther Arena.
The duo will be introduced to the crowd during the second TV timeout, which occurs after the first whistle with under 10 minutes to play in the first period. Then they will take pictures and greet fans in the South Goal Tap Room, located on the south end of the rink on ice-level, during the 1st intermission.
Hamilton and Rigsby will be available to the media immediately following their introduction to the fans, which should be at approximately 5:20 pm. Interested media should enter Panther Arena through the Pass Gate and then proceed down the ramp to the Zamboni area where I will meet you.
A Delafield native, Rigsby was a goaltender on the gold medal winning US Women's Hockey Team in PyeongChang last month. She graduated from the University of Wisconsin in 2014 after a remarkable four-year career that saw her help the team capture the NCAA Title in 2011 and finish as the school's all-time leader in wins (100). Rigsby, who is an alumus of the Milwaukee Jr. Admirals program, has spent the last three seasons playing professionally for the Minnesota Whitecaps.
Hamilton brought home the gold with for this year's Olympics with the Men's Curling Team. After starting the games with a 2-4 record, Hamilton and his mates stormed back to win five straight, including a win over Sweden in the gold-medal match. A McFarland native who also competed in PyeongChang with his sister Rebecca in the mixed-doubles competition, Hamilton competed in the past three Curling World Championships.
