Admirals Raise More Than $60,000 in 13th Annual MDA Jersey Auction

NORFOLK, Va. - Thanks to the generosity of its fans, the Norfolk Admirals hockey club was able to raise $60,285 for the Hampton Roads Muscular Dystrophy Association on Saturday night in its thirteenth annual MDA Jersey Auction, presented by PAPCO. Over the past 13 seasons, the Admirals have been able to raise $417,836 for MDA through the annual jersey auction.

Last Saturday night, the Admirals donned one-of-a-kind jerseys during their game against the division rival Syracuse Crunch. Following the game, a live auction took place on the ice with the jerseys sold right off the players' backs. The highest winning bid was $5,600 for Sami Vatanen's game-worn jersey. Twenty-nine jerseys, several silent auction items, a $5,000 donation from CITGO, and proceeds from special ticket sales helped to raise the funds for the local MDA.

The Admirals will conclude a five-game homestand with contests against the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins tonight before the Binghamton Senators invade Scope on Friday and Saturday nights.

Tonight's game against the Penguins begins at 7:15 p.m. and is the last Admirals Value Night of the regular season with Family Fun Packs and Student Rush Night tickets available.

Family Fun Packs include four discounted Red Level Tickets plus four free hot dogs, four free popcorns and four free sodas. Fans get all of that for just $54 - that's a savings of $37!

Student Rush Nights provide $9 White Level Tickets (normally $17 on game nights) for students with a valid current high school or college ID.
