Adirondack Phantoms News Release

The Phantoms officially unveiled the design for their Dan Miner bobbleheads for an upcoming home-game promotion honoring the long-time in-house voice and personality of Adirondack hockey at the Glens Falls Civic Center.

2,500 of these little beauties will be given away to fans in attendance at the Adirondack Phantoms game on Saturday, April 13 against the Connecticut Whale, AHL affiliate of the New York Rangers.

Be sure to arrive early because the Dan Miner bobbleheads will go quickly and fans will almost certainly be lined up outside the arena well in advance of the game.

"Not Tonight!" if you are the 2,501st fan through the turnstiles hoping to receive one of the collectibles.

"People are talking about this bobblehead and are getting excited," said Phantoms Executive Vice-President Chris Porreca. "Dan is a staple here within the GFCC and he's also on the air as a long-time morning host. He's done a great job over the years in this community and promoting a ton of different things."

The game will also serve as a tribute to Dan Miner who has been affiliated with Adirondack hockey in one form or another since the 1980's when he reported for area radio stations on the Adirondack Red Wings. He later served as the roving on-ice announcer.

Miner was a back-up to Adirondack Red Wings P.A. voice Greg Patrei and then became the full-time Voice of Adirondack Hockey with the Adirondack IceHawks and Adirondack Frostbite in the 2000's.

"There's no better way for us to honor him," Porreca said. "He's been our announcer and a staple within the hockey community here in Glens Falls. It just made sense to have the Dan Miner Bobblehead Night. We're looking forward to it. We expect there will be people lined up before the game."

The game on Saturday, April 13 is also Faith and Family Night featuring a post-game concert on the ice by contemporary Christian rock band, The Wrecking. Your ticket to the game is also valid for the post-game concert. Call the Phantoms for tickets at 518-480-3355.
